Laura Barnett Laura’s expertise as a financial planner is widely recognized in the industry, having been quoted in The Los Angeles Times, Money, Real Simple, and other national publications. Laura has served on the National Board of the National Association of Personal Financial Advisors (NAPFA), as President and Chair of the Southern Region of NAPFA and on the Board of the Brazos Valley Estate Planning Council. Laura has presented financial planning workshops to the employees of several Central Texas firms. Laura is a NAPFA-Registered Financial Advisor, a Certified Financial Planner® and a Registered Investment Advisor and has worked in the financial planning and investments field for over 18 years.

Laura has long been an advocate for individual investor, having founded Barnett Financial to address the shortcomings she saw in the typical sales-oriented broker-client relationship.

Laura specializes in financial planning by objectives. That means that as a financial planner, Laura helps her clients make their financial decisions in the context of their overall financial and personal goals. She provides comprehensive financial planning that encompasses:

Prior to founding Barnett Financial, Laura was a Financial Consultant at Merrill Lynch. There she earned the designation of Certified Financial Manager through the Donald T. Regan School of Advanced Financial Management.

Laura and her husband Chris celebrated the birth of their son Andrew in September 2003 and their daughter Sarah in October 2005.

Jessica Riner

Jessica offers a wide range of expertise to clients. After graduating with a Master's Degree in Educational Technology, Jessica spent six years traveling the country giving small business seminars on internet marketing and electronic business practices.

After the birth of her son, Chase, in 2001 she pursued an opportunity to work from home as Vice President of Business Development for a document conversion company where she gained familiarity with many virtual tools.

Jessica began working with Barnett Financial, Inc. in April of 2003. With over nine years of business management experience she is a valuable addition to its operations department. She is in charge of establishing and transferring accounts, preparing quarterly financial statements, billing, and keeping all client accounts and transactions running smoothly and running productively. She is practiced in the precision and detail needed to meet clients' needs.

Rachelle Coughlin

Rachelle graduated cum laude from East Texas Baptist University with a Bachelor of Science in Education. There she majored in Mathematics with a double-minor in Computer Information Systems and Music. After graduation she entered the teaching profession and for 13 years taught physics, calculus, algebra, geometry and consumer math to high school students.

Rachelle began working with Jessica in 2006 and now jointly handles Barnett Financial client account servicing and leads special projects. Her attention to detail, math and computer background make her a natural fit for our team.

She has an active family life with 4 young children-two of which are adopted from Ukraine.
